Today I’m sharing just a few ways to easily refresh your kitchen on a budget. I think sometimes we see the kitchen as a work-horse and don’t really think about updating things, or even decorating! I spend a lot of time in my kitchen, so I thought it would be fun to share a few easy upgrades I made to our space.

Change out your dish towels

We’ve had the same kitchen towels for the longest time. They were actually picked out to match our dishes when we got married. However, they are now worn out, and it was time to upgrade to something a little more fitting to my kitchen style.

These white towels were only $8 for a pack of five at HomeGoods. You never know what you will find at HomeGoods and it’s totally worth a stroll through the store every now and then to see what they have. It’s a great place to find budget-friendly decor. Since I’m unable to find these exact towels on their website, I’ll share a few options below.

Change out your soap dispensers

I love the Mrs. Meyer’s soap products, but I was looking for something a little less distracting to keep my hand soap and dish soap in. I found these glass bottles on Amazon and I think they look just a little cleaner on the counter.

These bottles came with labels, and I selected the two that I needed. They are a little pricier at $25, but they are glass, and we won’t need to throw them out when they are empty. You can find these bottles below, but I’ve also picked a few other options at lower price points.

Paint your backsplash

This is another great and budget-friendly way to update your space! If you read this blog post a few weeks ago, I mentioned that paint is one of the best ways to transform a room. I painted our backsplash in one evening and I love how it turned out.

Add a rug!

We’ve had this runner in our kitchen for a few weeks now and have managed to keep it clean. I’ve only dropped a few strawberries on it, but other than that, it’s remained clean. Adding a runner, or even a small mat, is a great way to add a little character to your kitchen.

Swap out your chandelier

This one might be a little pricier, but it’s definitely worth doing when you are able to. Changing out a light fixture makes such a huge impact!

I knew that I wanted to change out our island chandelier when we moved in, and we recently did that. It makes our kitchen look more modern and fits my style a lot more. Changing out your light fixture does cost more than the things I’ve listed above, but it is a great way to make a big impact if you are looking to do so. Here is a link to the one that we chose.
