Elevating Our Kitchen

We’ve been in our house almost two years, but we are still making changes to each space. I absolutely love my kitchen and all that it has to offer, but I don’t love our kitchen floor. The tile is dark, and the floor was put in years ago when wide grout lines were in style.

I’m not ready to demo the kitchen floor, or even for someone to come in and do it for us. Putting in a new floor will be time-consuming and expensive (especially because we will probably hire someone to do the work for us).

The quickest and easiest way to update this floor is with a new rug! Take a look at the before and after to see what I mean:

Before, my eye was drawn to the dark floor, but now it stops on the beautiful rug. The tile just becomes the background. If you are looking for a quick way to refresh your floor, this is the easiest and probably cheapest way to do it. Not only does it cover some of the floor, it creates a whole new level of cozy in your kitchen.

Until we are ready to change out this floor, I’m sticking with a rug to help hide the tile!

My particular rug is out of stock now (you can check here periodically to see if it comes back), so I’ve put together a few options for you to shop below.
